Read or Pass

As in Amos Towles first book, the start and middle of the book are great enough to keep you hooked but the ending is a bit anticlimactic. The story is nice, the setup and the overall buildup for the final scene is good, but the end is not as good as you expect it. Is it worth it? Yes. This is the third book written by Amor Towles.  In his previous books, I feel that he lacked a proper ending. While the ending of A Gentleman in Moscow was decent, this was not the case with High Society.  However, this was impressive! The book had a great story and it read like a mix of Huck Finn and the Grapes of Wrath, presenting the viewpoint of most of the people in the book. Not going to give you any more spoilers. Well worth the read. Amos Towles has finally learned to write great endings! Verdict: Read Grade: 9.5/10 Link:  Amazon
