I think value investing is often confused with a pure "buy and hold" strategy. In other words, investors believe that they should be buying a company and keeping it forever; that's what Buffett says right?

This is not what value investing is all about, and this is what this book aims to explain. Value investing may be more active than previously considered, something which is not controversial, especially if you also see Buffett's holdings over his career. 

That said, the book does offer a good introduction to value investing as well a good view of how Katsenelson aims to think and where he gets his ideas.
