It's a very interesting piece of literature, admitedly, and probably the first time so many "father issues" are explored in fiction (don't take my word about it).

The storyline is interesting: the mom who leaves, the dad who stays but is absent, the twin sons who grow up to be so different from each other (no more spoliers).

I guess I was expecting another Grapes of Wrath - it's not but it's not bad either.
